If only I learned some hair rendering techniques.. I know zbrush had a plugin, but
I don't know if its 3d or not.. or just 2.5 d?

Captain update!




Needed something to show for tomorrows class, fumbled around with some shaders the night before to get a feel for what kind of clothes they are, and what their made of..
After all, the reference we had to work with was a flash single shaded concept art hah.

The key element was he wants him to look more badass. We're talking shark wrestling in
your skibbys and using blowfish as condoms.

I've been kinda slowed and bogged down since my laptop quit on me last week.. taking most of my organized reel files with it. But hey I got still got all the project files... in the meantime I was gonna spend an afternoon sculpting lips.. i can never figure out characters lips... and i got kinda sidetracked and tried using some new tools... neat if i had a concept design to go by!

Recent Robot Render

Short dogwalk cycle, done fairly quickly.. and okay.

Older Animation

This one had some issues... with the feet slipping as he walked in..
I hated animating the main control, it goes no further when he reaches the pedestal.
From there I animated right off of it.


This is a recent animation for class, I need to fix the
timing of the jump (faster obviously) and the run off
is really crude but with under 20hrs of work I'd say it did okay,
render time scored at 45seconds a frame though!

Just moved the light rig over a little bit and moved the feet... It's sad all the problems you find in your
rig when you haven't touched it in over a 2months.. Good thing I knew how to fix it..

First character we have ever done in class, so far I'm out a little ahead but I still really wanted to make another version that was more curvey, a the face came out well but not the way i imagined it. Time restrictions suck.

More robot.. Still need to repost the re-textured feet and new hands





Robot


This is a recent Robot I drew (not such a great concept artist).
So I'll post the drawings... LAST! Because I'm still sketchy
about my drawing because of how much I love 3D opposed
to 2D.

1st off is me testing Zbrush's ability to texture on a test head.
From there on in is all Maya! I'll even post some of the terribly
disproportioned messes!

Yeah got pepsi! We had to reinact a Coors Light commercial with our can.
Mine came out okay I think.

Cave Again





These were final shots due, some of the shadows are a little photoshopped because of the way layers worked when I rendered them off... Turned out pretty nice but I wanted more vibrant lighting. Everything was UV'd, but only the rocks, and the cave interior were zsculpted and Normal Mapped. The rest got was basic photoshop texturing.
